The author's project “But(is)in Macedonia” is an engaging social satire that aims to explore the mechanisms of political grandomania, manipulation, the misuse of historical documents and the falsification of historical facts, which are in the interest of a certain group of people, which at a certain historical moment, proclaims himself not only a savior, but also for the founder of the entire nation and its tradition.
Undoubtedly, referring to the historical megalomania of the former Macedonian government and their projects that distorted the image of the nation, But(is)Macedonia will try to go a step further into Monty Python absurdity.
Starting from the assumption that, at the moment when the megalomaniacal transformation of the capital into a late antique capital is being completed, a document was found showing that Mount Ararat, (known from the Old Testament as the end of the journey of Noah's Ark), it is not the well-known Ararat for us, but Shararat, specifically Shar Mountain in Macedonia, begins a story that tells of a new round of historical madness.
Can a nation resist such a challenge and not seize the opportunity?, instead “one of the oldest in the world”, to become truly the oldest nation, first and only, the one on whose soil the miracles of the Old Testament were played out and which enabled the survival of the planet “receiving in its embrace Noah's ark which has preserved the specimens of the whole known world”?
This question, which acts like a narcotic on the brains of nationalists and political bigots, start up, certainly a new round of madness, new works, costs and retroactively changing the complete history.
Countless are the possibilities of the plan of comedy that are opened up by such a plot – funny like Aristophanes and ruthless like Brecht; we believe that “But(is)in Macedonia” will succeed in harming a mutilated opinion and action, which is not at all unknown to our simpletons, and comes from the minds of the historical adventurers of these areas of ours from late ancient Macedonia, but also from Greater Serbia and Greater Croatia.
